Hollywood, You’re Looking Good – 37th Annual ASC Awards

More than halfway through awards season and still so much excitement to come! With time flying fast, we here at SIGMA are locking in our sights on the 37th American Society of Cinematographer Awards on Sunday, March 5, 2023. Numerous fantastic films and television series are up for recognition, including “Top Gun: Maverick” (Claudio Miranda, ASC) for Best Cinematography in a Feature Film!

Since 1986, the ASC Awards have served as a way to recognize the technical and creative achievements of cinematographers across both film and television mediums. Furthermore, they also acknowledge filmmakers such as directors, producers and actors for their impact on the art of filmmaking as a whole.

With unforeseen events transpiring in recent years, filmmakers and studios have had extreme difficulties in everything from production to viewership. However, with such amazing work resulting in record-breaking box-office numbers, it’s safe to say that there is hope on the horizon.

The ASC first announced their nominations via livestream in early January. It is always a pleasure to be in the ASC Clubhouse, but while we were there it felt more like an honor. The air was thick with excitement from the high-level members of various product manufacturers that were in attendance to witness ASC Awards Chair, Chuck Minsky ASC, read off the names of all the nominees.

While we were in attendance for the nominations, we also took a few behind-the-scenes photos. How could we not?

Congratulations to all the nominees!
