Astrophotography with SIGMA

Astrophotography is practiced by relatively few amateur astronomers, but it can be done with simple setups and a little dedication. Anyone with a digital camera can enjoy this hobby. It does take patience and study to be successful, and it can be very rewarding.

Astrophotography allows you to enjoy the colors and details of nebula and galaxies beyond the scope of what you can see at the eyepiece. It can be a permanent memento of your personal observations and efforts.

Purchasing equipment without full knowledge of the configuration requirements for astrophotography can frustrate your efforts and be an expensive mistake. Please consider attending this educational series before any purchase.

This class includes a 30-minute workshop at the Roberts Downtown classroom at 1pm. (This session will be also shown online through Zoom.) It will then be followed later that day by a 2 1/2 hour hands-on class from 9-11:30pm that same day. (Approximately 55 minutes west of Indy) You do not have to attend the afternoon class. Bring your camera, tripods, and cable releases.

SIGMA will be providing great, fast lenses for most cameras as well as technical advice.

The event is finished.
