Cécile Rosenstrauch

I began my journey in photography at seventeen, and it has never left me since. I see myself as a prospector of the everyday: wherever I am, I search for gold, that is to say, beauty. A certain light, a color, a texture, an unexpected scene... Travel deeply nourishes this quest. It is not merely about changing locations; it can begin at the bend of a road, through an encounter, a sensation, or a memory, opening the way to a new experience. My approach to photography is not documentary. Rather, I seek to suggest, to build bridges between reality and the imaginary. I love transforming fragments of daily life into images where the narrative unfolds with restraint, and sometimes, with a sense of drama. When I am not traveling, I construct more allegorical worlds, deliberately leaving spaces open for viewers to project their own stories. Color is at the very heart of my work. It is my medium for transforming reality, shifting perceptions, and bringing to light a beauty that was not immediately visible.
