As a creator, my work is driven by exploration, spur of the moment of trips, long drives and hikes into quiet landscapes. I’m constantly searching for locations that feel unique, whether it’s a forest filled with texture or a perfect roadside view for a sunset shot with my vintage car.

For this shoot, my inspiration came from that same mindset: capturing a balance between cinematic landscapes and detailed automotive imagery in a way that felt natural and unforced, like it is woven into my lifestyle.

Using the new Sigma 20-60mm F2.8-4 DC | Contemporary played directly into that approach. One of the first things I noticed was how lightweight the lens is. I spend a lot of time walking or driving between locations, so the weight of my gear is a real factor – having a small and light lens that doesn’t get in my way is really important. It allows me to focus on finding the right compositions rather than on what I’m carrying, and being able to think and react more quickly helps me capture even very fleeting moments.

During this shoot, I really appreciated the versatility of the focal range. At the wider end, it was perfect for interior automotive shots, especially when trying to capture the full feeling of a space while still maintaining a bright, cinematic look. It also worked well for landscapes, where the wider perspective helped emphasize scale and atmosphere. As I moved toward 60mm, the lens delivered sharp results that were ideal for exterior car shots and even portraits. The natural compression at that focal length helps separate the subject from the background, giving the car a more refined and visually striking presence.

What stands out most is how adaptable the lens feels in constantly changing conditions. If the weather shifts or the light drops quickly, I can adjust quickly without needing to switch gear. That flexibility is essential for the kind of shooting I do, where each scene can demand a completely different perspective or mood.

It’s fantastic to have a lens that supports both the practical and creative sides of a shoot. It allows me to move freely, adapt quickly and capture a range of images that align with my style, making it a valuable tool for both structured automotive work and more personal, exploratory photography.
