Get ready for a full day of photo inspiration at The Camera Shop of Muskegon’s PhotograpHER 2021, Celebrating Women in Photography event in Muskegon, Michigan!
If photography is your business, if you’re thinking about getting into the photography business, if you are your family’s photographer, or if you volunteer to take pictures for others, this event could be for you! We will have classes and workshops from Sigma Ambassador and Profoto Legend of Light, Meg Loeks!

“Storytelling with Light”
Lecture and Hands-On Demo
10:00AM – 11:30AM EDT
Learn how Meg Loeks uses both natural and created light to strengthen storytelling within her frame. She will cover everything from golden hour, full sun, dappled light, low light and more. Meg will also discuss what Sigma lenses she gravitates towards for environmental portraits and classic portraits, covering settings and white balance.
At the end of the talk, Meg will lead a demonstration on how she creates natural looking light with her Profoto lights.
“Creating Strong Compositions”

In this lecture with Meg Loeks, learn about color theory and why it’s such a powerful compositional tool. Meg will not only discuss ways to build a strong, unique composition but also the importance of versatility in a single session.

Learn how to create a powerful narrative within your work with Meg Loeks. In this lecture, Meg will cover everything from light, lens choice, environment, color theory, composition, and more. Learn ways to draw inspiration through personal experiences and daily life, as well as art forms like illustrations, classic art, movies and music.
About Meg Loeks

Sigma America Photo Ambassador
Meg lives in a remote part of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with her husband, four young children and several animals. Her photography journey started when she was young, shooting with film and developing her own prints. Drawn to low light and color, she is a portrait and lifestyle photographer. Meg is also a mentor and instructor at Clickin Moms and a Profoto Legend of Light. She is also a volunteer photographer for The Gold Hope Project, a nonprofit organization which gifts families battling pediatric cancer a free photo session.
