Light as Language with The Pixel Connection
Sunday, January 11 | 12:00PM CT
This workshop explores how light communicates emotion before anything else in a frame. Through live demos using 1–4 lights and subtle gel work, you’ll see how Sigma Ambassador Meg Loeks uses small lighting shifts to completely change the feeling of a portrait, even when nothing else changes. View Finders on PBS: Locations, Composition, and the Art of Editing
Monday, January 12 | 8:00AM – 9:30AM CT
In this presentation, we’ll take you behind the scenes of the PBS photography show View Finders and show you how we choose the places we film and what draws us to them. We’ll talk about how we approach each location once we’re on the ground—what catches our eye, how we build our compositions, and the moments we look for. Then we’ll walk through how it all comes together in the edit, shaping the images we feature in each episode. Our goal is to give you a clear look at the creative process from the first spark of inspiration to the final polished piece. The presentation will include glimpses of the show, our photos, and some instruction in Adobe Lightroom.
