SIGMA’s Golden Hour Photowalk in Brooklyn
Join Focus Camera and SIGMA Ambassador Jim Koepnick for our Brooklyn Golden Hour photo walk.
The evening will begin with the group walking along the brownstoned avenues of Brooklyn Heights. Afterwards, the group will walk toward the waterfront to capture the Manhattan skyline at sunset.
Jim specializes in street photography, and also travel photography. He will share tips and ideas. Take this opportunity to further your artistic vision from the wide view of the Manhattan skyline to interesting details in the Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo area.
This is a special photo walk and will feature a first-time experience for those E mount and L mount photographers joining us. There may be something new for you to try!
SIGMA Technical Rep Marc Farb will be on hand to answer your questions and offer SIGMA loaner lenses.
The group will meet at 7 PM at 96 Henry St outside the Clark St. Station. Following the meetup, the walk will take you through Brooklyn Heights’ charming Brooklyn brownstones to the waterfront of Brooklyn Bridge Park to capture sunset against the Manhattan Skyline.
Attendees should take note of the following:
- please bring your own camera
- a limited quantity of lenses will be available to loan
- please bring a photo ID and credit card
About Jim Koepnick
Jim Koepnick is one of the leading aviation photographers today, photographing for Cirrus Aircraft, Flying Magazine, Plane and Pilot, Air and Space Smithsonian, AOPA and EAA. He also shoots for the USA Today Network – Wisconsin in the Oshkosh area, specializing in sports and action. His freelance clients include Ripon College, AACD and Our Wisconsin Magazine.
Previously, Jim was Chief Photographer at the Experimental Aviation Association for 28 years. In that role, he photographed over 1000 aircraft while on air-to-air missions and supplied over 500 cover images for EAA Publications.
His photography has been a consistent winner of awards from Aviation Week and Space Technology, Wisconsin Imaging Photographers Association, American Advertising Federation and Calendar Marketing Association. His photojournalism has also received awards from Wisconsin Newspaper Association, Wisconsin Press Photographers Association and Inland Press.
