Join SIGMA this April for more than 110 exciting photography & birding events with field workshops! This includes photographing birds of prey, birds in flight, horses on the beach, creative processes, historic architecture, portraits, flash, macro and classic cars in-studio. Join classroom seminars including Photoshop & Lightroom, composition, processing, printing, composition, and flash techniques for beginning to advanced photographers.

Photographing Horses on the Beach
Join SIGMA Tech Rep Brett Wells for sunrise on the beach with horses and riders! Learn the basics of photographing animals, whether that’s in your backyard, the skies over your head or the other side of the world. Brett will cover all the necessary equipment you need, as well as the camera settings that will help you get the shot. Loaner lenses will be available in the SIGMA Booth in the exhibit hall ahead of time.
Architecture Photo Walk
Join SIGMA Tech Rep Brett Wells for a beautiful morning walk downtown St. Augustine. Participants will explore and photograph one of St. Augustine’s iconic building, Flagler College, also known as the former Hotel Ponce de Leon. It was built by Henry M. Flagler in 1888 and back in its day it was a pioneer resort in several areas. It was one of the first hotels to have electric wiring and also constructed of poured concrete. One can find 79 Louis Comfort Tiffany stained glass windows, numerous Spanish sayings painted into the ceiling frescos, and much more. Architects John Carrere and Thomas Hastings created of the most remarkable examples of Spanish Renaissance architecture right here in historic St. Augustine.
Photographing Birds at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm
Join SIGMA Tech Rep Brett Wells for a session at the famous Alligator Farm Rookery. Learn the basics of photographing birds in prime locations and destinations. Brett will cover settings, lenses, cameras, accessories, behavior and weather in this workshop. Loaner lenses will be available in the Exhibit Hall ahead of this workshop.
Advanced Macro Photography
Ready to take your macro photography to another level? Explore techniques and accessories to achieve greater magnification, working distance, and depth of field. Learn the tricks of shooting extra large and extra close, as well as the limitations, challenges, and complications of extreme macro and how to overcome them in this workshop taught by SIGMA Tech Rep, Brett Wells.
About Brett Wells
Brett Wells has worked in the field of photography for over 25 years. He has a masters degree in photography from the University of Westminster, London, UK. He taught at the Art Institute of Atlanta for 7 years and currently teaches classes and workshops around the United States. His work has been published and exhibited in this country and abroad.
Brett is the Education Coordinator and a Technical Representative for SIGMA Corporation of America, supporting SIGMA, photographers and photographic education around the country.
