Come learn from SIGMA lenses and Heather Larkin! What lens should you pick when you’re photographing dancers? That depends on what you want to show! Are you in an urban location where you want to include the buildings? Are you in a garden where you want to blur as much as possible? What lens will show off a dancer’s athleticism as much as possible? See how lens choice and aperture change the depth of field and tell different stories as well as allow for different locations when doing dance portraits. Then learn about what makes a good dance photo vs a terrible one!

Dance Deep Dive
Don’t know where to begin to photograph dancers? Jump right in for this day-long studio and location in-depth learning experience with SIGMA lenses and Heather Larkin. In this deep dive masterclass, you’ll learn what to look for in a good dance photo, and a few dance vocabulary terms so you can ask your ballet models to do what you’re envisioning.
You’ll have the opportunity to test SIGMA loaner gear while you watch Heather as she poses the dancer for the best portraits in-studio, then you’ll take photos as well! After a short break, you’ll come back and shoot on location outdoors!
Walk with Heather and your ballerina models through Melrose as you learn how to account for changing light and unique conditions while still putting the morning learning into practice, all with expert help along the way to ensure you get killer images when you’re done.
