Concert Photography Critique with SIGMA Ambassador Anabel DFlux and Focus Camera

Music photography is arguably one of the most exciting and wild niches you can engage in as an image maker. Musicians, magazines and fans alike look to skilled photographers to create meaningful pictures that could very well go down in music history. From strobe lights and red bulbs to excitable musicians and an energized audience, concert photography is no easy feat.

Concerts throw all of the most difficult shooting conditions at photographers at once, expecting action captures in low light scenarios within a limited frame of time. Being unable to control the scene in front of you, tap into your spontaneous nature and capture fervent portraits, wild mosh pits, and a dazzling stage show. By switching your camera focus mode to continuous focus shooting, turning on burst mode, and widening those apertures -success is within your grasp.

Focus Camera, SIGMA Corporation of America, and Anabel DFlux are formally inviting you to submit your best photographs of live concert events for a critiquing event in which Anabel will divulge all of her secrets to excelling in this unique niche. Look for shots that showcase passion, fervor, and defy all of the odds stacked against you -after all, we are the brave photographers of the event world!

Who is This For

Photographers of all skill levels interested in improving their concert photography.

About Anabel DFflux

SIGMA America Photo Ambassador

Anabel DFlux began her artistic journey at the age of ten, upon being gifted her first camera. This newfound passion quickly turned into a skilled endeavor, and by the age of fifteen, Anabel had opened her own photography service, Deliquesce-Flux Photography. By seventeen, her photography service became a full-time profession. By the age of nineteen, Anabel had received an Associate’s Degree in Graphic Design and Visual Communications, and by the age of twenty-three, a Bachelor’s in Business Marketing with a focus on branding and content marketing. Although photography is a self-taught skill, during this time, Anabel had also collaborated with several well-known photographers, attended multiple workshops and panels, and received a few certifications- all in order to increase her knowledge and further her passion.

Anabel’s love for art and creation has always been an innate feeling, and she prides herself on having a natural sensitivity for composition, aesthetic, and various other aspects of visual art. This aids in her keen ability to understand what it takes to make a great photograph, not just a good one. The camera is as much a part of her as her arm, and became an extension of her body. Alongside this, Anabel’s life-long passion for animals and music brings forth her strongest work.

Why is the selection of photos “random” – seriously no one will review the entered photos prior to random selection of “the cream of the crop?”

What happens with those photos that are Not Randomly Selected?

    Hello!

The selection is based on a first come, first serve basis. We will try to give everyone an opportunity for review; however, due to time constraints, we unfortunately may not get to every single photograph.
