I am a wedding filmmaker and this is my story which I think is the perfect example to shoot your shot at the thing you love doing the most and it hits the right place! So, nine years ago, I made a life-changing decision. After a brief stint in mechanical engineering, I realized my heart wasn’t in it. Instead, I felt a compelling pull towards photography, a passion that had been brewing since I first held a camera. My journey into photography began with a simple love for capturing images. I found immense joy in framing scenes, experimenting with angles, and playing with light. The mechanics of the camera fascinated me, and I immersed myself in learning everything about it.

A significant part of my photographic journey is centered around capturing Indian weddings. These weddings are high on emotions, with each ceremony carrying profound significance. The challenge and joy of photographing such events lie in the ability to anticipate and capture these fleeting moments that hold immense emotional value. Also, to shoot such fast-paced events, it is very important for the photographer to have gears which he trusts and are equally compatible to him. When it comes to owning the right camera body and lens, I have always and I must emphasize on the always, that I have been shooting with the SIGMA lenses since I started my journey and their recent addition in the lens category – the SIGMA 28-105mm F2.8 DG DN | Art is a multi-tasker lens. It balances both a focal length of 28-105mm and a constant aperture of F2.8 which is an amazing combination. It ticks the box when it comes to the quickest auto focus I have experienced since we all know how weddings and photoshoots are.

Having a versatile focal length, it will always support the capturing of any closeups or intricate details and also will help clicking the widest of shot with utmost clarity. I wanted to try the efficiency of this lens and what’s best than using it in one of my wedding projects. I specifically wanted to test its wide angle shot projection and capture and it got the job done by bringing the subject to focus. Also moving shots like the “feras” and “varmala” which can happen only once according to the Indian wedding ritual ceremony, we have to be very quick while capturing those. But with the help of this SIGMA 28-105mm F2.8 DG DN | Art and its fast focus ability, every shot was crystal clear with the couple in focus. Also, I would like to mention about the tone and how it remained true to the colors that I was capturing. It was quite amazing! I could also notice that no sacrifice in its weight or size was made despite of all the specifications.

In conclusion, photography is more than just a profession for me; it’s a way of life. It’s a journey that began nine years ago and continues to evolve with each passing day. Capturing Indian weddings, with their vibrant colors and deep emotions, has been a major part of this journey and SIGMA has created a masterpiece with this SIGMA 28-105mm F2.8 DG DN | Art lens. I think this would be my first recommendation to all my fellow photographers and enthusiasts.
