Photographers, filmmakers and content creators are always looking to elevate their work, and one of the easiest ways to get better performance out of your camera is to upgrade to a fast, sharp prime lens with that buttery background blur that makes your subjects pop! And thankfully, you won’t need a big, full-frame camera to achieve those results. To clarify, the 16mm, 23mm, 30mm and 56mm lenses are:

  • Designed for crop sensor (APS-C) cameras, such as the EOS R7, R50, R100, R10, etc.
  • Compatible with full-frame cameras with a significant crop – for example, using this lens on a 24-megapixel Canon EOS R6 II will result in approx. 9.3MP still images.
  • NOT compatible with Canon DSLR cameras or Canon EOS M cameras.

Key Features of the 16mm, 23mm, 30mm & 56mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary lenses

Smooth, gorgeous bokeh

These prime lenses all feature a large F1.4 maximum aperture, that provides exceptional subject separation for smooth, blurry backgrounds and foreground elements. With a shallow depth of field, portraits pop and distracting environments melt away.

Incredible low-light performance

A large aperture also means better low-light capability. At F1.4, these lenses let more light into the camera, which means faster shutter speeds, less noise, better autofocus performance, and more flexibility with your photography overall. You can even use these tiny lenses for astrophotography!

Superb sharpness at all apertures

These lenses aren’t just renowned for their shallow depth of field, they are also extremely sharp. Many “fast” lenses sacrifice sharpness for low-light performance, but the SIGMA DC DN primes exhibit high image quality, even at F1.4.

Smooth, quiet, fast autofocus

These lenses feature a quick, yet smooth autofocus motor that grabs focus precisely and provides clean, gradual transitions from one focus plane to another, especially ideal for filmmaking and video production.

Dust and splash resistant mount

The mounting surface of these lenses isn’t just the right size for Canon RF, it’s also made of durablepolished brass, designed to withstand years of use. And the rubber gasket around the edge of the metal ring keeps dust and moisture from getting into the camera’s sensor area.

100% Made in Aizu, Japan

Even our most affordable lenses are made entirely in our single factory in Japan, and are subject to serious quality control. So for Canon EOS R System users who want the best lenses possible for their cameras, rest assured we cut no corners. These lenses are designed to impress and built to last.
