Patrick Santucci and I had a few days to check out the first sample of the new 24mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art lens to arrive in the US, right before it was shipped off to WPPI for the big show.
The widest full-frame Art lens released to date, this lens takes in 84 degrees for sweeping views.
It’s an Art lens, so the build quality and handfeel is rock-solid, with a wide focusing ring, for full-time manual focus. Autofocus with the whisper-smooth hypersonic motor is swift and accurate.
And the image quality is outstanding, edge to edge. Wide open or stopped down a bit, the frames just pop.
We’ll do a deeper dive into the lens after the show; but we just had to share a sampling of our test images after a few hours out with the newest Art lens. We’re really liking what we’re seeing so far—how about you?
