This week’s Fan Photo of the Week was made with Sigma’s 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM by Jag Fergus. She tells us:

“This photo was made  in Watson Lake, Prescott, Arizona on a chilly morning.  The granite dells surrounding the lake are great subjects for textures and patterns.  On this particular image, the patterns of the ice on the foreground interested me.”

Jag Fergus was born and raised in Laoag City, Philippines. She is an accountant by profession and after a successful career in the banking industry, she migrated to the U.S.A. 6 years ago to raise a family of her own. Her love of photography started four years ago when her daughter was born. She took pictures of her every single day with her P & S camera and shared them to her family in the Philippines. Although her favorite subject in photography is her daughter, she also enjoys taking photos of lakes and other landscapes. One of her favorite spots to hike and photograph are the granite dells of Watson Lake in Prescott, Arizona. She considers herself very fortunate and blessed to live close to the dells. She just couldn’t resist snapping a shot or two of the other-wordly beauty of the granite dells around Watson Lake whenever she goes out hiking with her husband and daughter. Along the way, she discovered her love of nature photography. “I always love the reflections of the granite dells on the crystal clear water of Watson Lake”, Jag said. She got her DSLR camera as a birthday gift from her husband two years ago. Some of her work appeared in the Friday Fotos online blog of Arizona Highways Magazine. Her photo of the Granite Dells in Watson Lake titled “A Time of Reflection” is the January 2012 Photo Contest winner of Arizona Guide, the official website for Arizona Office of Tourism. And that inspired her to learn more about photography, improve her skills and expand her photographic adventure in the Southwest. After each adventure, she always loves to say “Making simple things more interesting through my eyes…”.
