SIGMA DP2 Merrill

Editorial reviewers and photographers around the globe have been amazed at the exceptional image quality of the Sigma DP2 Merrill.

Here’s a sampling of recent quotes that have caught our eye about this amazing compact camera.

The Absolute Sounds

“In optical quality, Reichmann claims it plays second fiddle to no other  ‘standard’ lens from any other manufacturer including Leitz and Zeiss.”

“The DP2 Merrill has a unique and extraordinary sensor and an equally extraordinary lens”

“In my experience no other camera, short of a 4×5 or a medium-format digital rig with a high-res back, has outdone it in image quality under the right circumstances.”

GreatWaterProofCamera.com

“The Dp2 Merrill digital cameras are not your typical point and shoot camera.”

“Enthusiasts dub it the “Foveon look”, which is quite extraordinary compared to typical sensors used by other manufacturers.”

Luminous Landscape

“Spectacular sensor resolution. Nothing like it on the market for the money or even anywhere close to the money”

“A world-class lens, perfectly matched to the camera’s sensor”

“Build quality, general design and “feel” of the DP2M is excellent”

“Its clean appearance says that this is a camera with a purpose, not a generalized tool.”

Steve Huff Photo

“The Sigma DP2 Merrill and its 46 Megapixel Foveon Sensor is GORGEOUS, RICH, and with SUPERB COLOR”

“I have to say that the image quality of this camera is flat-out amazing when shooting at low ISO with good light. I found it better than the Leica X2, Sony NEX-7, or just about any other comparable camera I have shot with in recent times”

“Its 30mm f/2.8 lens that is razor-sharp giving you a 45mm f/2.8 equivalent, it is a perfect match to the sensor inside”

“Rich JPEGS right from camera. Dynamic Range again, is superb. Color is great and the detail and subtleties are wonderful. The DP2 Merrill delivers in the IQ department no doubt. This is their best sensor to date.”

  1. Please add RAW Aperture/Lightroom support. Even if only as a plug-in (i.e. SPP plugin to view and convert from within the other programs). This is one glaring omission that really slows down my workflow.
