Join Sigma Pro Dave FitzSimmons for the second annual Point Reyes National Seashore photo workshop, March 12 and 13, 2011. Assisting Dave in the two-day event will be legendary Bay-area seascape photographer, Patrick Smith.

Point Reyes National Seashore is one of the premier seascape locations in all of North America, with rocky coastlines, sandy beaches, diverse wildlife, and a picturesque lighthouse. Huge waves and rocky cliffs create the ideal conditions for dramatic photography throughout the National Seashore. And sunrises and sunset in March can be a photographer’s dream.

Amid the incredible landscapes are herds of Tule Elk, deer, coyote, and a whole host of birds. And Point Reyes Lighthouse, built in 1870, is an incredible sight!

Dave and Patrick will teach basic landscape and seascape photography techniques, demonstrate creating painterly effects of waves along the beaches, and lead the group to the top spots for wildlife and landscape photography, including prime sunrise and sunset locations.

Legendary seascape photographer Patrick Smith, known for his magical exposures of West Coast beaches, assists Dave at Point Reyes. In this photo, taken of Patrick at last year’s event, Patrick explains landscape techniques along Drakes Beach. Photo by Dave FitzSimmons.

Last year’s one day workshop was such a success that we’ve expanded the event to two days.

This year’s workshop will include classrooms sessions, field expeditions, Sigma loaner lenses, and hundreds of dollars in door prizes. The workshop features the instruction of two pros: Dave FitzSimmons and Patrick Smith.
